- In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Add dried dandelion root and peppermint leaves.
- Lower heat and let simmer for 7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and steep for 5 minutes.
- Strain into mugs.
- Add lemon juice if using. Serve hot or warm.
Notes
- Dandelion root has natural diuretic properties, so drink in moderation.
- If pregnant or on medications (especially diuretics or blood pressure meds), consult a doctor before using dandelion tea.
- Roasted dandelion root gives a richer, slightly nutty flavor, while raw keeps it earthy and mild.
- Peppermint aids digestion and freshens breath — also helpful if drinking after a heavy meal.
